When you know yourselves, then you will be known, and you will understand that you are children of the living Father. But if you do not know yourselves, then you live in poverty, and you are the poverty.
I omitted the second half of Thomas 3 in my last post, so here it is. This is a very Buddhist idea. The route to spiritual knowledge is inward reflection. It is through ignorance of our selves that we remain trapped in the cycle of suffering.
The Dalai Lama says that we should treat our mind like a laboratory. During meditation we should examine ourselves, and look for oppurtunities to make positive changes.
