Giving up Facebook for a month

The difference between my blogging endeavors here and my time on Facebook is similar to the difference between reading a book and watching the TV. One is a lot more mentally engaging than the other. Facebook saps my strength with little to show for it. Therefore I've decided to give it up for a month and see what happens. That means I might be more active on this blog. We'll see.

How did it go giving up facebook for a month? I think it would be hard to give up that feeling of conversations both held and eavesdropped on that is facebook. But sometimes I think it reinforces my loneliness because of the vaguely alienating feeling of communicating only online.

That said, it's a bit lonely writing blog posts that you know only 2 or 3 people will read, at the most.

I, for one, am glad you're blogging more again.

Well, I failed to give it up. Worked for a week or so, but then I couldn't resist...

The world of Facebook interaction has many positives and negatives. I feel like I communicate with more people than I normally would, and in many cases, it is the only way I would ever communicate with these people, but on the other hand, the quality of communication is not always very high.
