Look at this beautiful picture my new camera took of an ant on my bathroom floor!
I've always wanted to take pictures like this, and now I can. Life is beautiful. Thanks to my wife for scouting out the camera for me.

cool pic, if ever-so-slightly disturbing. I have a really good camera for a couple of YEARS now but I was never able to transfer the photos out of it and on to my computer so I stopped using it.
I only know how to transfer pictures to a macintosh. That's easy. Hook up the camera via a USB cable, and then either use iPhoto, or ImageCapture. I suspect you're not using a Mac though.
What kind of a camera is it? I have a Canon Powershot, but it doesn't have much optical zoom. I turned off the digital zoom because it isn't useful. Canon has a great lens. Yours is terrific!
I am using a Mac and I plugged away with the USB and whatnot and yet somehow. . . . Computer-y stuff makes me really nervous. Maybe I'll try again, inspired by your fab pictures.

It's a Kodak EasyShare. Digital zoom is completely useless, I agree!

Pistolgal, are you using OSX? If so, I think ImageCapture is included with the operating system. It works very well.
it is OSX! I will try this weekend and see what it yields this time around. thanks!
