The man with large orbital neandertal ridges
Talked of Mother Teresa.
She was asked what she said when she prayed.
Nothing, I just listen.
And what does God say?
Nothing, she said, he just listens too.
This sounds profound,
But I have no idea what it means.

One for you:
Cat curled on my knee
I'm sitting in the blue chair
Thoughts late, moving slowly
I lose myself in every stare
Cat purrs luxuriously
My lungs want and fear the air
Panic and shudders beg to be
I'm afraid to die. I know
It could be stated more obliquely
But it's not my job to dare
I've rarely, I've tried, to be fair
I've jerked quick-twitch stopped flow
I've made a point of pride a part of empathy.
But the pack burst when it froze.
And as the holder of right good trust, I demand my share.
You will pay, will pay, what you owe
Sleep, speech, I swear I will impair
And imperil even should you ask of me
Then demand, then hold with care
You kiss eyes-open, though
And the sins of the father march me toe to toe
In obeissance to divine care
Whether we or wheee, I mean
There are traps within snaps in one snare
And punishment unacknowledged is more so.
We are both ashamed of injury
And suspect a follow blow
Quick on every stroked hair
Hand open or fist closed
You're coming at me.
Cat curled on my knee
Every line is always there
Again late, wary, slow
Maybe I'm not where
I should be.
Oops. Line three should actually read: "...moving slow"
i like it.
